Two years ago the People’s Republic of China and its allies launched a biological attack on the world. They created a vitamin-nutritional supplement called Vitamin Z. Through propaganda, media and free samples, within the first week of introducing the new product, more than half the world had tried it. Shortly after reaching all the target markets people began to change, they died and reanimated into zombies. The virus then took on the name of the drink that introduced it, Vitamin Z.
The symptoms of Vitamin Z tricked people at first, giving them more energy, strength and increased memory, but then quickly wore off leaving the world to die. The only survivors were the ones that learned quickly that Vitamin Z was causing the virus and that the reanimated dead would transmit this deadly disease if they were bitten.
The attack came after a failed attempt of creating a super army. China’s government had formulated a chemical compound intended to modify the genetic makeup of their soldiers. The compound was compromised before the final stage of testing was complete. This resulted in what we know as the first occurrence of the human-body dying and then reanimating itself. China did not see this as a failure, they saw it as an opportunity. They learned that the chemical did not have to be introduced through the blood system, it could enter the body in any way and still have the desired effect.
However, China was not fortunate enough to keep themselves out of harm’s way. The infection quickly engulfed the world and the apocalypse set in.
People fought for survival and many lasted for a long time. Food then became scarce and natural resources began to deteriorate. Humans started resorting to animalistic and barbaric behaviors and eventually even started turning on each other. With no hope and no relief in sight, the final survivors find it difficult to keep going and ask themselves “what would you do to survive?”
